One
Step - BluesWorks (3:20)
Judy Luis-Watson wrote this song, which offers hope
and encouragement to those who have suffered a loss.
Judy sings beautifully and plays piano, while Paul
Watson lays down sweet harp lines and Colleen Dugan
drives the feeling with her excellent djembe. This
song was recorded live at the Augusta Heritage Workshops'
2004 Vocal Week concert. One Step is also the title
of their latest CD. Judy and Paul co-founded BluesWorks
in 1991 and conduct a range of blues music education
programs. For more about BluesWorks, their CDs and
schedule, visit www.bluesworksband.biz.

LYRICS:
ONE STEP
Cold
creepin' 'round your heart
Can't find your feet, make a new start
Head's so heavy, feet like lead
Big snake tied you to your bed
Ice
cold, sweats all night
Winter won't quit, fire burning white
Fear pumpin', got you jumping high
Dark clouds rollin' like a butterfly
Take
one step, move one step along, one step, keep movin'
along
One step, take one step along,
Go on, go on and sing your song, mooove, you gotta
move along
Wrong
or right, gotta stay right here
Can't run or hide, gotta fight the fight
Been gone too long, too far to turn back
Put your shades on, get your hat off the rack....like
that (hold two bars)
Take
one step, move one step along, one step, keep moving
along
One step, take one step along,
Go on, Go on and sing your song, mooove, you gotta
move along
Keep moving along
.
Take
one step!
