Cool
Down - Phil Wiggins and Mark Puryear (3:59)
Phil wrote this song in 1995 to tell young people
to chill out. In this newly recorded version, Phil
plays an edgy harmonica with Mark Puryear's steady
guitar. Phil is internationally famous and one of
the best harmonica players in the world. He has toured
and cut numerous CD's with John Cephas over the years.
"People automatically think of sadness and depression
when they think of blues. But the blues is uplifting
music, music to rejuvenate you, to nourish the spirit,"
says Wiggins. For more about Phil, see www.cephasandwiggins.net.
Mark recently has been playing with BluesWorks. Copyright

LYRICS:
COOL DOWN
Well
this morning's headlines read
Four more precious children dead
Before one more old drop is shed
Cool down; cool down, cool down,
You better let your blood cool down.
Well
you've got you're turf staked out
And you want no shadow of doubt
So you're trying to take all the doubters out
Cool down; cool down, cool down
You better let your blood cool down.
Well
your hair trigger temper wakes
And your trigger finger aches
Well that's such a bad mistake
Just cool down (that's right); cool down, cool down,
You better let your blood cool down.
Well
the law is on the run
It's seems like all God's children got guns
Kingdom come thy will be done
Cool down; cool down, cool down.
You better let your blood cool down.
Cool down, cool down,
You better let your blood cool down.
Well you better let your blood cool down.
Well you better let your blood cool down
